IntelliProve raises €1M to further accelerate growth of their video-based health monitoring technology

Ghent (Belgium), 15 November 2022 – IntelliProve today announced receiving €1 million in investment from The White and Yellow Cross (Dutch: Wit-Gele Kruis), VLAIO, imec.istart Fund and other private investors to fund its market expansion and product development. IntelliProve is a fast-growing MedTech start-up based in Ghent (Belgium) that focuses on camera-based health monitoring. The White and Yellow Cross West-Flanders and Antwerp led the funding and are joined by the existing shareholder imec.istart and other private investors. Additionally, IntelliProve was granted by VLAIO to further develop their optical software.

IntelliProve’s mission is clear: save human lives by improving health monitoring. The company, led by four co-founders, developed a computer technology capable of accurately determining health parameters within a few seconds, based on an optical measurement of the face. A combination of novel signal processing and computer vision technology is at the heart of IntelliProve’s technology. Health parameters such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, mental biomarkers, respiratory rate and blood pressure are measured using a conventional smartphone camera. Fast, contactless and without the need for specialized equipment or wearables. The smart face scan of IntelliProve contributes to accessible and preventive healthcare by providing ‘digital biopsies’.

IntelliProve was incorporated in 2021 and is currently in the product testing phase of the software solution, made available to various healthcare platforms via an API. The company recently launched their first product to empower mental health solutions with quantitative biomarker data. IntelliProve will use the funding to further develop their clinically-validated solution, and to accelerate their go-to-market.

Joeri Tulkens, one of the co-founders and CEO of IntelliProve, welcomes the investor backing and says: “This capital injection and trust from our investors shows the importance of our health monitoring solution, which increases the quality and engagement of patient-centered digital healthcare solutions. We’re grateful and humbled as a team to be playing a role in today’s healthcare landscape.”

“IntelliProve can be a real game changer for our organization and by extension for the entire healthcare sector. The tool can help provide a solution, in a socially responsible manner, for the scarcity of healthcare workers”, explains White and Yellow Cross West-Flanders general director Katalien Dendooven. “Determining vital parameters such as blood pressure and heart rate today takes a lot of time because this still has to be done manually. If this time can be greatly reduced by working with facial scanning, this would make a world of difference for our nurses. The time this frees up will contribute to qualitative healthcare.”
